Race for the Cure

Bright and early this morning we participated in Race for the Cure, which supports breast cancer research. We had a lot of fun running in the 5K and enjoying all the activities they have going on. It is a Really neat event with a HUGE turnout! It was a wake up call for me to learn that 1 in 8 women will have breast cancer in their lifetime and to see all the women who have survived breast cancer and the signs and t-shirts remembering others. I enjoyed the 5K so much I want to start running in more events like this.

Boomer Sooner

I can not believe it has been 2years since I graduated from OU it feels like yesterday I was there working in the football office and my game day was just another day of work. Now I get to go and enjoy the entire game in casual comfortable clothes. Leslie (my best friend from college) and her husband and I spent the weekend in Norman and had a great time I always forget how Norman really is God's country.

Drillers

Some how my friend Lou Ann got roped into helping with this campaign to keep the Tulsa Drillers in Tulsa vs. Jenks. So then I some how got roped into helping Lou Ann so Tuesday night at the Drillers game Lou Ann and I were passing out fans, signs and bumper stickers. It was kind of fun and we decided some people are way more opinionated then we are.

Happy Wednesday

Wow! I can't believe it's Wednesday at the same time I can't believe it is only Wednesday. Things have been pretty uneventful the last couple of days it seems work, Pilates and every day errands and chores can keep a girl busy.

PINK got her hair cut today and I thought she looked so cute! I thought this picture was funny with her ears spread out (I love when she does that.) It was hard to get her to stand still for a picture she was so glad to be home running around and barking at everything.

PGA Tournament

We took off work for an afternoon at the PGA Tournament today. It was lots of fun and very hot. We didn't really know any golfers other then Tiger and he wasn't out there when we were but we did manage to see some famous people even though we kept having to ask people "now who is it we are watching." It is quite the event!!!!

Still Celebrating

Sunday Mom and Dad and Mark and Jen came to Tulsa and we celebrated some more we went and ate at Los Cabos along the river and just enjoyed hanging out and celebrating all day.

It's a Celebration

Our friends then had a party for us at Jewel where we danced the night away.

Birthday Buddy

Natalie and I share the same birthday so it was lots of fun to have a buddy to celebrate with. We were very excited about the cake from one of our favorite bakeries and it was pink too!

Then the Party

To celebrate we ate at El Guapo's which was a lot of fun to sit on the rooftop that over looks downtown.

25 is looking FINE

To start of my birthday weekend I received a wonderful gift for a friend and I to have A Day of Beauty at Ihloff Spa. Lou Ann and I had massages, facials, manicures, makeup, hair etc. It was so much fun and very relaxing. This is the only picture we remembered to snap because we were so relaxed.

How is it already Tuesday?

So the weekend came and went and we are already looking ahead at the upcoming weekend. Last weekend we went and saw Hairspray and I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry. Hairspray was so good and we had so much fun singing along with it. I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry I didn't really like but it was a little bit funny! I've got to get better at carrying my camera with me everywhere and posting things quickly the days just always slip away. Here is one picture that I managed to reemember to snap. These are my friends Becca (also my 5 AM workout buddy) Lou Ann and Redge

"Always look on the bright side of life"

The Broadway hit Spamalot was in Tulsa last week and Tracey and I had the privilege to see it and I must say it was Highly entertaining. It was not my favorite musical I have ever seen but it was very funny and unique. I think I would enjoy it even more a second time there are so many witty lines we both felt like we missed some good parts. One of the songs is "Always look on the bright side of life" and I have been singing it all week and it has found a permanent spot on my IPod. Here are part of the lyrics its a really fun song and I recommend you download it and sing along too.

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

PINK

PINK has been my little buddy and my baby for almost 3 years. Last month she under went surgery to have a lump removed that turned out to be a malignant fibrosarcoma. Because it is a malignant tumor it has a high chance of returning and the vet recommended extensive radiation treatments which can only be done at the University of Missouri. If she under went these treatment she would have to be away from home for a month and they would do radiation 5 days a week. After much prayer and tears and counsel from another vet I have decided not to put her through that because of the potential psychological issues it could cause, I decided that I wanted to keep her at home. So far she seems to be doing well and the vet is optimistic that they were able to catch it early and remove all of it. Of course just like everything else in life there is no guarantee and anything could happen at anytime but so far so good! She will be going to the vet every 12 weeks to watch for potential re-growth.

Isn't she the Cutest thing in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Family Reunion

This year we celebrated our family reunion in Norman for the first time. I think it was a huge hit everyone had lots to do and had a great time bonding with family we rarely see.
